30th From Saint Stefano´s Day, happyness in Canoa grows even more. The rhythm is intense and the amount of tourists grows. All of them to enjoy the “Reveillon” (the arrival of the new year)and the Jemanja party, the goddess of the sea that simbolizes the african mother. The Broadway turns into a theater of joy and extravagance, the beach, a mistic place, hundreds of men and women, dressed in white, throw their offers to the Ocean and to its mistress. |

| Carnival
Brazil means Carnival and vice-versa. The carnival in Aracati (city of which Canoa is a fraction) is one of the most famous of the Northeast. Starting on full Thursday the smallests and more simple lodges have no more vacances, all the time its good to make party, mess and gaiety. |

In this place was born a group called “ Mocreas Etilicas ” three years ago, which goes to the streets on cinders Wednesday. Hundreds of men dressed in women clothes and women dressed like men invade the village and extend in one more day the party of Carnival. | |
