From the
Pousada La Dolce Vita is easy to arrive to the beach in order to
do kitesurf with the maximum of pleasure. The Pousada, beyond to
have a transport service until the beach, has places adapted in
order to conserve the sport material. Canoa is a wonderful place
for the kitesurf: it has an incredible panorama, red sandstone barriers
and a constant wind that blows from the ocean. It can be taken off
and be landed alone in order to enjoy two steps across the spectacular
river. From the skillful part of the ocean there are stones that
like barriers protect the beach. During the high be careful: the
sand is not enough and if there is too much people on the beach

The majority of the versions about the sprouting
of the kites points the 2.000 years China as the origin place, where
kites helped the navigation of boats and the transport of weighed
material of construction. In the year 700, the Buddhist missionaries
would have led to Japan kites that had started to be used to religious
and military intentions (its racket served to intimidate the enemies
and the height that reached helped in the comment of distant positions).

In the Second World
War I, Americans had used kites as mechanism of defense against
airplanes. In 1295, the Italian explorer Marco Polo is pointed as
the responsible for taking the Asian invention to Europe, The English
George Peacock is considered the father of the traction kite, for
having invented, in 1826, in Bristol (England), a structure where
a wagon was pulled for kites to the speeds of up 20 Km/h. Its alternative
did not evolve very in almost 150 years, not to be for the experience
of one of the pioneers of aviation, the American Samuel Franklin
Cody, who sailed the Channel pulled for a kite. Jalbert, (U.S.A),
created in 1964 the first kite that was inflated of air and, in
the decade of 70, some Americans had started to use parachute to
pull them into water. |

In 1977,
the dutch Gijsbertus Panhuise obtains to patent an equipment where
a person in a plate pulled by a parachute and, in 1978, a catamaran
moved by a kite developed for the American Ian Day exceeds the 40
speed of Km/h. In the decade of 80, had been made some attempts
– badly succeeded - to combine kites with canoes, skids, aquatic
skids of ice, among others. One of them was of the Swiss Andreas
Kuhn - that, on a similar plate of wakeboard and stimulated for
an original equipment, raised the water: about 25 square meters,.
Shown for the European TV, he was probably the first one to jump
and raised with weak winds. But it was from the work of two families,
an American and a Frenchman, also in the decade of 80, that it was
initiated (chronology) so that kitesurf arrived at the form that
has currently.

In 1982, the American Bill
Roeseler, a designer of Boeing, and its son, Cory, use a species of
delta wing of rigid carbon fiber structure to pull them on aquatic
waves. Already in 1984, the French brothers Bruno and Dominique Legaignoux,
developed a kite with air chambers. An inflated air allow them to
raise again the without needing the aid of third. The invention is
patented. In 1992, Bill and Cory Roeseler they put for sale the product
that had patented and called kiteski. In the following year, the kites
of inflatable structure start to be solded in the market. In 98, it
was disputed (Maui) The World-Wide Championship in the modalities
Long Distance, Wave and Slalom. |
